Post your stories!
I just had one of those moments...
You know, when you think you're perched on the edge of oblivion with no way out, then by some miraculous circumstance you were able to come out unscathed.
I just had such an experience, and this proves the incredible potential of Heroes.
I was doing the Jennur's Horde mission. Heroes, henchies. First five Harbingers down, Harbinger of Nightfall to go. (I skipped the bonus just because.) I'd managed to kill the five spawns just on the other side of the "crag" in the middle of the hall, so there's just the Harbinger and his two spawns left, along with the patrol here and there. So I start thinking, I'm home free, I can just run the energy globes up to the Harbinger and run back. So what do I do? Saunter on up to the dude and deliver the 33% damage, only to have the nearest spawn that just happens to be linked to him clamp down on me like a mouse in a trap. Great.
Of course my party is still parked back with the third spirit, waiting on any patrols that happen to saunter on by. So over the course of 20 minutes or so I meticulously work them up to where I am, having them kill patrols one by one, carefully planning where to go next since the patrol directions are random. And by some miracle I actually get them to resurrect me, and I go on to beat the mission.
I was ecstatic, something like that would have of course been impossible in the first two campaigns.
Any other "back from the brink of death" stories out there? I'm sure I didn't have the worst situation possible
